What is an incremental encoder disk code wheel?

The optical code disc is made of optical glass, on which many concentric code tracks are engraved, and each code track has light-transmitting and non-light-transmitting parts arranged according to a certain rule.

Photoelectric code disk

Material: optical glass, metal material, film material

Encoding: Binary, Decimal and Cyclic

How it works: incremental and absolute

Concept

The photoelectric code disc converts the displacement into an electrical signal in the form of "digital code" through photoelectric conversion. It is a digital sensor with grating sensors, inductive synchronizers, magnetic grating sensors and capacitive grating sensors. However, the above-mentioned sensors are all output in the form of "counting"; while the encoder type sensor is output in the form of "digital". The core component of the photoelectric encoder is the encoder, and the accuracy of the encoder determines the accuracy of the sensor. The code wheel is used for angle measurement (or angular displacement); the code ruler is used for length measurement (or linear displacement). The code wheel and the code size are collectively referred to as the encoder. There are capacitive, inductive and optoelectronics in terms of the way to realize the conversion. The encoder is divided into two categories: incremental encoder disk and absolute encoder disc.

Below  are the incremental encoder disk introduction:

1. Incremental rotary encoders have differences in resolution, which are measured by the number of pulses generated per revolution. The number ranges from 6 to 5400 or higher. The more pulses, the higher the resolution; this is an important basis for selection. one.

2. Incremental encoder usually has three signal outputs (differential has six signals): A, B and Z, generally using TTL level, A pulse is in front, B pulse is behind, A and B pulses differ by 90 degrees, each The circle sends out a Z pulse, which can be used as the reference mechanical zero. Generally, A leads B or B leads A to judge the direction. The incremental encoder of our company is defined as forward rotation when the encoder rotates clockwise when viewed from the shaft end, A leads B by 90°, and vice versa, counterclockwise rotation is reverse B leads A is 90°. There are also different, see the product description.

3. When using PLC to collect data, high-speed counting module can be selected; when using industrial computer to collect data, high-speed counting board can be selected; when using single-chip microcomputer to collect data, it is recommended to select the input port with photocoupler.

4. It is recommended that B pulse be forward (forward) pulse, A pulse should be reverse (backward) pulse, and Z origin zero pulse.

5. Set up a counting stack  in the electronic device.
